Omnium1 tablet is not charging

In case of consistent or intermittent charging issues, please contact your SBS service centre.

Touch screen not responsive

The tablet is equipped with capacitive touch screen technology, which means that whenever one of your fingersgets in touch with the screen surface, it creates a tiny electrical disturbance that sends signals to the tablet. There are people who have problems operating a touch screen primarily due to their skin conductivity. Pressing hard on the screen won’t address the issue. One way to solve the issue is to use a capacitive stylus.

However, if you still are experiencing slow response even using a capacitive stylus, please contact SBS for further assistance.

Tablet seems to get sluggish and unstable. How to clean up?

Your Omnium1 tablet is built on Android Kit Kat 4.4.2 platform, and like any other rather sophisticated operating systems, over time it may get slowed down due to software application caching, temporary files, etc. created and left over during the usage or during improper shutdown and application crashes. Sometimes this even caused system instability, system refuses to boot-up properly (i.e. boot screen logo keep flashing up in a loop).

The easiest way to “clean-up” your system is by clearing your system cache partition without losing your existing data. Follow the steps below.

  1. Shutdown your tablet (or push the reset pin if tablet fails to shutdown or response)
  2. Press POWER and VOLUME (+) button at the same time to bring out the boot menu
  3. Use VOL (+) button to move selection to [Recovery Mode] and press VOL (-) to select
    clean up 01
  4. At the Android Mascott Screen, press POWER button once to bring up the next menu
    clean up 02
  5. Use VOL (-) button to move selection to [wipe cache partition] and then press VOL (+) once to select
    clean up 03

  6. Press VOL (+) to reboot your tablet

The tablet is getting warm/hot at the backside

Please ensure your firmware is updated to the latest version. If you have already updated to the latest firmware, then this may due to faulty 20 pin flat cable, D/A converter or tablet hardware issue. Please contact your nearest SBS service centre for further assistance.

Note: Avoid extreme bending of the 20 pin flat cable as this may damage the cable and cause a short circuit.

SD Card reading error

The maximum micro-SD card size supported is 32GB.

If your SD Card is 32GB or less and still cannot be read by the tablet, reformat the SD Card with your PC or Mac (Fat 32, exFAT) as your current SD card format may not be recognized by the system or is corrupted.
